Visiting Reinhold Messner

The starting point of this excursion is the San Martino valley station, in the town of Laces. Proceed towards the main road, cross it and reach the Latschander canal. Follow path n. 3 through orchards, vineyards and chestnut trees until you reach the Senales canal. At Ciardes, the trail leads to the canal of the same name. Continue up to Juval Castle, the castle of Reinhold Messner, where you can stop and visit the museum dedicated to the theme "The legend of the mountain". On the way back, go down to Stava and from there you can take the Val Venosta train to Sluderno.
